It is on the banks of the Maekok River that you find the Maekok River Village Resort, a peaceful place with mountain views across the river. The resort has its own organic farming operation producing vegetables, fruit and eggs and it has a student centre where young people from within Thailand and around the world come to learn indoor and outdoor skills. They also come to help with the education and development of disadvantaged youngsters, particularly orphans, at their own schools or at the centre………the resort trains these youngsters in organic farming skills, hotel work and to learn to speak English, giving them an advantage in the work place.
